كانِ مِنهُ وَحَلَّ كُلَّ مَكانِ
That gazelle—Beauty, bewildered among his
features, settled in every single place.
عَرَضَت دونَهُ الحِجالُ فَما يَل
قاكَ إِلّا في النَومِ أَو في الأَماني
The curtained chambers stand between you and him, so he meets you
only in sleep or in dreams of longing.
