1. إِنَّ وَردَ الخُدودِ وَالحَدَقَ النُج

    لَ وَما في الثُغورِ مِن أُقحُوانِ

    The rose-red cheeks and the dreamy eyes,

    And the ruby lips concealed from prying spies,

  2. وَاِعوِجاجَ الأَصداغِ في ظاهِرِ الخَ

    دِّ وَما في الصُدورِ مِن رُمّانِ

    The swelling breasts with pomegranates crowned,

    A man might faint to have his arms around,

  3. تَرَكَتني بَينَ الغَواني صَريعاً

    فَلِهَذا أُدعى صَريعَ الغَواني

    Among the fair maidens you left me lying,

    That's why I'm called the swooning, the dying.
