If you quench the thirst of others, not me,

Then give me a cup, delightful, healing.

Your eyes bring me rest, your words joy,

The blush of your cheek is rose enough for me.

When inhibited from ruby wine for propriety,

The wine of your eyes intoxicates, fulfills me.

Were it not for signs of age coming to advise

I’d have awakened, but more will come to me.

I accept my youth, your people had their fate,

And if I remain, then grey hair will console me.
