    by Fortune’s hand, in beautiful symmetry.

  2. From the planks of glory and high renown has she

    been fashioned in beauty of bearing and grace.

  3. For her builder is Hussein, a man of wisdom,

    one of the master craftsmen, possessed of stouthearted mettle.

  4. Wherever the sea, like a radiant cheek,

    shines fair, she appears upon it as a beauty mark.

  5. Her masts soar upward toward the sky,

    until you see her become a pillar bearing heaven.

  6. Whenever she sails, you see her as a bird,

    or as lightning coursing forth in the hands of her smile.

  7. Mount Ṭūr is hers—and date her with the word “Twin”;

    and upon her God has inscribed safety.
