لَقَد تَورّدَ وَجهُ الحِبِّ مِن خَجَلٍ
لَدى العِتابِ وَإِبداءِ المَعاذيرِ
Indeed, the face of love flushed rose-red out of bashfulness,
at reproach and the offering of excuses.
وَالشَّمسُ تُكسَفُ حَتّى لا ضِياءَ وذا
كُسوفُهُ قَد بَدا نوراً على نورِ
The sun is eclipsed until no radiance remains; but as for this one,
his eclipse has appeared as light upon light.
