يُطالِعُ في لَوحِ الجَمالِ مَحاسناً

قَدِ اِنتَقَشت فيهِ أَجلّ اِنتِقاشِ

He gazes on the tablet of beauty at charms

That have been picked out on it in the choicest picking,

وَرَقّت حَواشيهِ عَلى شَرحِ حُسنِهِ

وَقَد رقّ حسنُ الشّرحِ عَن ذي الحَواشي

And its margins are decked out in explaining its loveliness,

While the beauty of explanation falls short of that of the margins.
