لقَدْ دَخَلَ الرِّياضَ وماسَ تِيهاً
رَشاً فاقَ الهِلالَ بوَجْنَتَيْهِ
Indeed, he entered the gardens, swaying in proud grace—
slender, his two cheeks outshining the crescent moon.
وَمالَت نَحوَهُ الأغصانُ شَوْقاً
وشِبْهُ الشّيءِ مُنجَذِبٌ إلَيْهِ
The branches leaned toward him in longing,
and like is drawn to like.
