وَإِنّ الحُسينِيَّ الحميدَ شَمائِلاً

لَشَهمٌ حَوى لُطفاً يُضمُّ إِلى فَضْلِ

The virtuous and praiseworthy Al-Husseini

Is courageous, yet gentle and kind

أَتانا إِلى بَيروتَ يَركَبُ بَغلَهُ

وَجاءَ أَخا عَقلٍ فَراحَ بِلا عَقلِ

He came to Beirut riding his mule

And met the brother of Reason, yet acted unreasonably
