إِنَّ بازَ العُلى عَلَيهِ اِجتَمَعنا

فرأيناه كاملاً في الصِّفاتِ

We gathered high on the hawk

And saw him perfect in qualities

ليتَه قد أطال وقتَ اِجتماعٍ

فهوَ للنفس من لذيذِ الحياةِ

If only he had lengthened the gathering time

For it is the soul's sweetness of life

بَل حَبانا بِساعَةٍ مِنه جُوداً

فَاِحتَظَينا بِأَبرَكِ السّاعاتِ

Rather he gifted us an hour of his generosity

So we treasured the most blessed of hours
