بِروحي مُحيّاها وَحسنِ كَمالِهِ
بِهِ سالِفاها أرخِيا فَوقَ خَدَّينِ
With my soul I would ransom her face and the beauty of its perfection.
Upon it, her two sidelocks were let fall over two cheeks:
هِلالانَ مُسوَدّانِ في حُلَّةِ اِزدها
لَقَد أَشرَقا بِالحسنِ مِن صَدرِ شَمسَينِ
Two black crescents in a robe of splendor—
They have indeed shone with beauty from the bosom of two suns.
