Rejoice, you who are lofty in name, rank, and the heights,
in a fortunate son, attended by delight.
Because of him, the cups came one after another, brimming with pure bliss;
for if one cup passes, another comes after it.
Through him, joys were sewn into the fairest robe,
with which bodies, spirit, and soul adorned themselves.
Above glory there arose a radiant sun.
Good fortune is her constellation; no ill-star comes near it.
Glory is his cradle, and lofty honors his foster-mothers;
Sublimity nurses him, bending tenderly and never turning harsh.
How lovely a newborn, whose father you are!
People congratulate you on him—and so do speechless tongues.
Glad tidings! Set down the chronogram, “A son of glory”; for indeed he
is surely a star, a full moon in the heights—he is the sun.
