يُداوي أَخا سُكْرٍ لِيَصحوَ طَرفُهُ
بِخَمرٍ يُعاطيها وَمِنهُ تفيضُ
He treats a drunken man so that his gaze may clear,
With wine he serves—and it overflows from him.
فَطينُكَ إِنْ داوى السَّكارى فَإِنَّهُ
طَبيبٌ يُداوي النَّاسَ وَهوَ مَريضُ
Your clever fellow, if he treats the drunkards, is indeed
A physician who treats people while he himself is ill.
