بِيَ وَجهها أَرْخَتْ عَلَيهِ سَوالفاً
زادَت بِها تَحسينهُ وَتَجمُّلَهْ
I would ransom her face with my life; she let sidelocks fall upon it,
Enhancing its beauty and adornment with them.
لَمّا بَدا قِنديلُ حُسنٍ قَد زَها
جَعلت لَهُ مِنها السّوالِفَ سِلسِلَه
When a lamp of beauty appeared, already radiant,
She made those sidelocks a chain for it.
