Mustafa, glad tidings of joy to you—rejoice
in a boy whose zenith of good fortune rises high.
In him the suns of joy have shone forth,
now dispelling the clouds of sorrow.
He is noble in soul and sire, just as he is
noble in ancestry, with which other lineages are compared.
For he has gained kinship with al-Kuzbari,
and his cord is bound to his lofty station.
A lineage that kings have wished to join;
and souls yearn to attain the heights.
Let your eye find comfort in what you have been granted, and rejoice.
Indeed, this joy will not pass away.
You had hoped before for a close friend, until
they recorded the date: “A beloved, Khalil, has come to you.”
I hope he will be seen as a father, then a grandfather,
while his father enjoys a long, extended life.
