يا مَن إِذا عُقَدُ الهِجرانِ ما حَلّا

الوَصلُ دينٌ مؤجّلٌ وَالأَجل حَلّا

Oh Lord to whom, when the bonds of estrangement bind us fast

Reunion deferred is a debt which at last falls due

يا مَن رضابُهُ بِنَقطهِ لِلبحارِ حَلّى

اِرحَم مُعنّاكَ الّذي هَجرك طَحَن عَظمه

Oh Lord whose every signet-ring stamps the ocean a seal

Have mercy on him whom estrangement from You has crushed in spirit

وَقَطَّعَ العزمَ مِنهُ وَالقوى حَلّا

And broken in strength and resolve.
