أَتظنّ البقا بِدارِ الهَوانِ

فَاِتَّئدْ كلُّ مَن عَلَيها فاني

Do you think to remain in the abode of disgrace,

So prepare yourself, for all upon it will perish.

إِنّ هَذا الضّريحَ قَد ضَمّ شَهماً

كانَ في ذا الزَّمانِ عَينَ الزّمانِ

Indeed this tomb has enclosed a hero,

Who in his time was the star of all time.

أَحمدُ الحافِظُ الحَميد خِصالاً

حَسَن الخلقِ ذو الصّفاتِ الحِسانِ

Ahmad the preserver, the praiseworthy of noble traits,

Of good manners, possessing the finest qualities.

قَد دَعاهُ رَبُّ الجِنانِ إِلَيها

فَأَجاب النِّدا بِدونِ تَواني

His Lord called him to Paradise,

So he answered the call without delay.

وَحَباهُ فيها الرّضا وَسَعيدٌ

مَن حَباهُ الكريمُ بِالرّضوانِ

And granted him therein contentment, and blissful is he

Whom the Generous grants bliss.

كَم مَعَ المُصطَفى الشّفيع سَعيد

قَرَّ أَرِّخ كَحافظٍ في الجِنانِ

How happy with the Intercessor he will be,

Settle, oh preserver, in Paradise.
