ماءُ سَماءِ الخدِّ لمّا حَلا
أَنبَتَ رَيْحاناً لطيفَ النّما
The cheek's sky water when it descended
Grew sweet basil, gentle of growth
فَقُلتُ لِلرَّيحانِ مُستفهِماً
أَنتَ اِبنُ من قال اِبنُ ماءِ السّما
So I asked the basil, inquiring,
"Whose son are you?" He said, "Son of the sky's water."
