1. أَلا إِنّما الأُستاذُ في الفَضلِ صالِحٌ

    فَسَلِّمْ لِما يُبدي وَسالِمْ وَصالِحِ

    Indeed, the teacher excels in virtue

    So submit to what he says, be peaceful and virtuous

  2. تَقرُّ بِهِ العَينان حُسناً وَمَنطِقاً

    وَدَرساً وَتَحقيقاً بِحُسنِ النّصائِحِ

    The eyes are delighted by his eloquence and good speech

    His lessons, analysis, and good advice

  3. وَلا غَروَ إِن قَرَّتْ بِذاكَ عُيونُنا

    فَما قَرَّتِ العَينانِ إِلّا بِصالِحِ

    No wonder our eyes are content with that

    For the eyes are only pleased by what is good
