روحي فِداءُ عِذارٍ حَلَّ وَجنَةَ مَنْ
فاقَ الكَواكِبَ شَمساً ثمَّ أَقمارا
My soul is a ransom for the radiance that adorns a cheek,
Surpassing suns and moons in splendor.
لَولا العِذار لَما اِسْطاعَتْ لَنا مُقَلٌ
إِلى مُحيّاهُ باهي الحُسنِ إِبصارا
Without such radiance, no eyes could have borne
To gaze upon that face of beauteous allure.
كَالشَّمسِ لم تُطِق الأبصارُ رُؤيَتَها
لَولا سَحابٌ لِطيفٍ حَولَها دارا
Like the sun none can endure to see,
Were it not for the soft clouds veiling its flare.
