وَرَوضَةُ نَرجِسٍ غَضّ نَضير
بِهِ اِمتَلَأت وَماسَ عَلى الغصونِ
A garden of narcissus, fresh and bright,
With dew filling its blossoms overnight.
فَقُلت نَدوسُ فَوقَكَ قالَ حبّاً
وَمِن أَجلي اِجعلوهُ عَلى عُيوني
I said I'd trample its flowers, it replied,
"For love, trample me! Spare the flowers," it cried.
