وَقَبَّلتُ فاه راشِفاً لِرُضابِهِ
وَكَرَّرتُ شَمّي الوردَ مِن ذَلكَ الخَدِّ
I kissed his mouth passionately for his pleasure
And again I inhaled the rose scent from his cheek
فَقالَ لِماذا الشمُّ وَيحَك فَاِتَّئدْ
تُواليهِ لا أَدري وُقوفاً إِلى حَدِّ
So he said, why the smelling, spare yourself
You persist without knowing when to stop
فَقُلتُ لَهُ روحي رضابُكَ خَمرَة
وَما طابَ شُربُ الخَمرِ إِلّا على الوردِ
So I said to him, your cheek is like wine
And the drink of wine is only sweetened by the rose
