1. وَشَت خَدّها بِالياسَمين تَزيّناً

    فَأَمسَكَهُ وَالخدُّ وَاللَّه عَندمُ

    Her cheek adorned with jasmine

    He held it, and by God the cheek still held

  2. وَمِن عادَةِ الكافورِ إِمساكُهُ الدّما

    وَفي خَدِّها الكافورُ أَمسَكَهُ الدّمُ

    The blood, as camphor in its nature stays blood

    The camphor in her cheek had stayed the blood
