1. رَأَيتُ شُعاعَ الشّمسِ قَبّل رِجلَهُ

    وَأَكثَرَ لِلتّعظيمِ فيها اِلتِثاما

    I saw a sunbeam kiss his foot,

    And linger there in deep respect.

  2. فَشَمسُ الضّحى لَم تَستَطِع مِن سَمائِها

    نُزولاً لِذا التّقبيلِ مِنها اِحتِراما

    The morning sun could not descend

    From her high throne to pay respect

  3. فَقَبّل تِلكَ الرِّجلَ عَنها شعاعها

    وَعَنها عَلى رِجلَيهِ لَثماً تَرامى

    To that dear foot. Her warming ray

    Instead came down and kissed his feet.
