إِنّني قَد شَريت ثَوبَ حَرير
فيهِ رِبحٌ لَو بِعتهُ أَيُّ ربحِ
Indeed, I have bought a garment of silk.
There is profit in it, were I to sell it—what a profit!
بِعتُهُ لِلحَبيبِ مَع كَونِهِ لي
طَرفاه حلّ بِحبّة مِلحِ
I sold it to the beloved, though for me
Its two edges were lawful—for a grain of salt.
