The garden of beauty, the beloved’s face, drinks from
The garden of beauty animated by love drinks
the water of loveliness; light surges within it.
From the water of charms, illuminated by light.
And every cheek, where modesty has blossomed,
Every cheek adorned with a mole like a pearl
bears a mole immersed in the most radiant beauty.
Crowned with a birthmark of the finest beauty.
So on every cheek a rose has appeared,
Thus every cheek reveals a rose that has bloomed
and in each of the two roses a blackbird has settled.
And in both these roses a nightingale sings.
