How noble is Uthman, with the lights shining
Honour Othman while the lights shine bright
From him; by them the worlds are illumined for all time.
Through him the ages are illuminated
A light upon his brow, a light within his soul—
A light on his brow, a light in his heart
Al-Jawza wished to be adorned with two such lights.
Like them Venus is adorned and arrayed
O you who marveled at this without reflection,
O you who without insight are amazed at this
Do not marvel, for Uthman is the possessor of the two lights.
Be not amazed, for he of the two lights is Othman
