If the poets have bestowed praise upon you,
If poets lavish praise on you,
Then do not regret it if your giving is abundant.
Do not regret when gifts pour forth.
For wealth may perish and wear away,
For wealth may vanish and decay,
And praise endures through time, never perishing.
But praise endures and fades not away.
