I watch the star all night long in my lovesick yearning,
I gaze upon the star all through the night enthralled
Until I no longer know slumber at any hour.
Until I lose all sense of time, unaware, appalled
How, then, can I sleep at night, when the stars have
Shall I then sleep at night whilst stars their beams unfurl
In my eyes a radiance like needles?
And pierce my eyelids with their rays like swords uncurled
