سَرقت عَيني لمّا أَنْ بدَا
خَالُهُ البادي بِإِحدى الوَجنتَينِ
My eye stole, when it appeared,
When his cheek appeared in view
His mole, visible on one of his cheeks.
My eyes stole it away
قالَ لي جِئني بِهِ قلتُ لَهُ
إِنّني أُعطيه مِن حَبَّةِ عَيني
He said to me, “Bring it to me”; I said to him,
He said to me: bring it to me
“Indeed, I will give it from the pupil of my eye.”
I said: I would give it my eye's love
