1. O You who answer the supplicant

    and hear the one who communes with You,

  2. our sovereign, my Lord—for him

    be a helper and protector.

  3. Support him, O Lord of creation,

    O You who see but are not seen.

  4. And be the director of his affairs,

    and his guardian and sufficiency.

  5. By the truthful one, to whom truth is told,

    and the master, al-Siddiq,

  6. and the master, al-Faruq,

    grant him a complete victory.

  7. O my Lord, by the martyred sheikh,

    our Uthman, the praiseworthy scholar,

  8. likewise, by the mighty lion

    who was the judge of sacred law,

  9. by the family of the best of messengers,

    and his companions, the people of the right hand,

  10. grant the imam of the Muslims

    a clear and healing victory.

  11. My Lord, by the dwellers of heaven

    and all that has been exalted in Your presence,

  12. be generous to him and bestow favor

    by Your seizing the enemies.

  13. Our sultan—what an excellent imam!

    Mahmud, the valiant lion.

  14. Keep him safe, O Lord of peace,

    and be a defender on his behalf.

  15. My Lord, let his life endure,

    and grant his armies victory for him.

  16. And raise his fortunes high,

    and keep them lofty.

  17. And through him protect his lands,

    and grant him his desire.

  18. And destroy his adversaries,

    and annihilate the foe.

  19. And grant the people of Islam victory

    over the foes, the Rūm.

  20. O Creator of all beings,

    leave none of them remaining.

  21. Upon them, calamities—

    unleash them, and afflictions likewise;

  22. then, from the fates of death,

    their ravening lions.

  23. Send down upon them every sickness

    that ends in their destruction.

  24. And keep wrath upon them unceasing,

    and keep the calamities coming.

  25. And scatter their hosts,

    and seize them, every one.

  26. And make their dwellings

    empty of them, for us.

  27. May death keep visiting them;

    O Lord, then take vengeance on them.

  28. And set against them, O Avenger,

    Your keen-edged swords.

  29. Into booty for the Muslims

    turn them, O Lord of heaven.

  30. And grant this in bounty, and be generous,

    O my Lord, O my God.

  31. Then blessings and peace

    upon the intercessor among all beings,

  32. and the noble family and companions,

    who have gathered lofty virtues.
