إِنّ حِبِّي تجاههُ رُقَبائي
فيهِمُ إِذ مَرَرت قَد لاحَظوني
Indeed, my watchers are facing my beloved.
My love for him they noticed
When I passed among them, they eyed me.
As I passed by they spied on me
مُنذ بَينَ اللواحِ صِرت وَحِبّي
قلت وَيحي قتلت بَينَ العُيونِ
Since my beloved and I came to be among the gazers,
Since between the branches I fell in love
I said, 'Woe to me! I was slain amid eyes.'
I said woe is me, slain between the eyes
