1. O Sulayman of the age, you have built a basin,

    With sincere devotion to God, the Majestic.

  2. You built it skillfully, with a fine design,

    Seeking an abundant reward, multiplied.

  3. You gave the people sweet water to drink from it;

    Through it, the ailing one's burning thirst is relieved.

  4. May God, my Lord, give you drink on the Day of Gathering,

    From the Messenger's basin—and with these words I have dated it.
