بي حاجِباهُ كَذاكَ أَسودّ خالهُ

My life for his two eyebrows, and likewise his black mole,
With eyebrows like two dark moles between
For between them stood, in plain sight,
When he stood up giving sight its due
عَبدٌ تَكَفَّلَ لِلعُيونِ بِحِفظِها
فَلِذاكَ يَبدو شاهِراً سَيفينِ
A slave who undertook to safeguard the eyes;
A slave took upon himself to guard the eyes
And so he appears brandishing two swords.
