God holds subtle graces and secrets upon the earth, through which destinies unfold as lessons for mankind.

On that Friday within the Sacred House, events transpired by which the faith might well have crumbled.

Were it not for the Lord of the Worlds' defense, the very earth would have surged beneath us, or our abode turned into a strait.

Verily, the transgressing heretics have long known such misery, frequenting its watering holes time and again.

They sought the aim of a wretch who came before, named Ibn Muljam; his abode—and theirs—is the Fire.

So they were laid low, corpses on the battleground; for he who intends sacrilege therein, the Fire awaits.

Marvel not, O sons of Islam, for they have evil forebears who left deep traces in the ways of wickedness.

They spoke to Zayd words ill-befitting his station, words bearing sin and shame for those who believe them.

"Disavow Abu Bakr and Umar for our sake," they urged, "and our wealth and lives shall be your ransom."

But he replied, "God forbid! Nay, I shall not say it, for they were my Grandfather's ministers and kin."

"How could this be, when Abu Bakr was his successor, and his true companion when the Cave embraced him?"

At that, they rejected him, and in folly purchased the name "Rejectors"—wretched is the title they chose.

Verily, the Imam against whom they plotted holds guardians and helpers sent from God.

God is too generous to leave His creation void of a champion for guidance, for it is God who chooses.

O best of those borne by the spirited stride of bay steeds, O best to whom both Bedouin and city-dweller flock.

The Sacred House shall thank you for the traditions you revived, and pilgrims great and small shall praise your justice.

You have set right for the people their worldly life and their faith; establishing security and commanding the good.

You rose tall from a lineage of pure roots; a sun whose kin are moons within the cosmos.

Crowned with the majesty of kingship, robed in the ornament of virtue; the dispenser of both benefit and harm.

Through him, the nation of Islam has come to smile; prayers for his long life rise while ever a soul remains.

The mightiest defender of a realm, the most generous to whom riders hasten, shaking saddles upon their mounts.

Lean white camels are driven toward him, their pads bloodied by soft sands and sharp stones.

You see kings standing at his threshold: one seeking bounty, another hoping for pardon.

And another comes from across the deep seas, hoping for his aid, for he is bountiful.

These are true virtues, not deception or sorcery by which the naive and weak-minded are beguiled.

O King of auspicious star, days and eras have been sweetened by your endeavors.

The enemy, though he feigns a pure exterior, burns within, hiding malice beneath what he displays.

Like water appearing clear when still, yet beneath that surface lies the murk.

You discern what they hide even in their oblique speech; far be it that a deceiver or plotter should mislead you.

To God belongs your glory, O Abdulaziz; indeed, the fame of your grace has traveled the horizons.

The world meant little to you, so you gave it freely, until one dinar lamented its parting from another.

If a man deviates from the bounds you set for him, or is misled by a deceiver to slight your command...

You trample him with a legion of thundering neighs, vast enough to serve as nests for the birds of the sky.

When it sweeps through the land, it leaves the rebellious regions dusty and desolate.

But if they obey, they dwell in security and ease, where rivers flow through the gardens of justice.

The deeds of one who holds fast to God: avenging those who disobey, yet forgiving of minor slips.

You break not the covenant of him who pledges loyalty, nor prove treacherous when you give your word.

He who made you a shepherd has shown you the welfare of the Muslims, and God's grace pours down in abundance.

You see lions grazing alongside the flock, their claws clipped by the hand of justice.

So remain as you sought, ascending the heights, honoring the obedient and conquering the foe.

Accept this humble effort from one beholden to your bounty, who shall remain thankful to you as long as he lives.

The noblest praise is that adorned by your name, surpassing all embellished speeches and verse.

Then blessings upon the Guide, his followers, and his companions, for as long as birds sing in the boughs.
