An arrival that resembled the embroidered tapestry of spring,

And the horizons of the universe were perfumed when it breathed.

The world shone with light and was clothed

In a garment of beauty, embroidered with happiness.

And her former beauty was restored to her.

A lamp of guidance whose light encompassed the Hijaz,

And illuminated what holds the Hatim and Zamzam.

By God, how much truth he established, and falsehood

He removed, and how much generosity he poured forth and let flow.

In the Mosque of the Chosen One his stay was long,

And he prayed upon him from nearby and offered peace.

He clarified every obliterated trace of his methodology,

And renewed of his landmarks what had been broken.

Landing places of revelation, sanctified from sins,

And from heresies that served as a ladder to evil.

Life in Taybah became pleasant for its people,

After they had been driven from it, singly and in pairs.

And he poured out among them, from the flow of his generosity,

Buckets that clothed everyone who was destitute.

For how many of the weak, the orphaned, and the widowed,

Call out when the night covers them in darkness:

"My God, perpetuate the victory of the Imam and his might,"

"And aid him with success, O Raiser of the Heavens."

For he has been a cave and a refuge for the needy,

And for the tyrant, a striking sharp sword.

And the paths were secured and the Divine Law made judge,

    على الطائِرِ المَيمونِ سارَ وَخَيَّما

    He turned toward the abode that prospered through him;

Upon the auspicious bird he traveled and pitched camp.

To God belongs this glory! How its tall branches have branched out,

Reaching to the east, the west, and the north.

O Imam of guidance, truly praises regarding you

Are an honor for your eulogist, even if he were mute.

Are you not a pillar for this religion, and for glory

A lighthouse, and for the days a festival and a season of joy?

Your two days: one is a day raining with gifts,

And a day wherein swords drip with blood.

How many a traitor fell prostrate before your sword,

Though he was neither possessing purity nor overwhelmed by love.

Verily, the Commander of the Faithful is a guarantor

Of instruction for the seeker of guidance until he understands.

But whoever desires nothing but dissension, then he

Guarantees to make the whip cut deep.

So let not a people be deluded, whose ancestors you elevated,

And upon whom you bestowed favors from the flow of your gifts.

For how often comes choking after clear water, and a lump in the throat

By which you make enemies taste the bitter colocynth of death.

And whoever provokes the predatory lions, they make him

A meal for their cubs beneath their claws.

And whoever unsheathes the sword of tyranny, his death becomes

By the very blade he drew or the arrow he shot.

    إِذا حَسَّهُ مِنها شَواظٌ تَنَدَّما

    And how many a striker of fire became its fuel;

When its smokeless flame touched him, he filled with regret.

You pardoned the criminals out of the bounty of nobility,

And there is no true pardon unless it is an act of nobility.

The nature of one imprinted with goodness, who did not spend the night

Watching the outcomes of affairs with hesitation.

    وَإِلّا فَلا وانٍ وَلا مُتَوَهِّما

    Out of patience, clemency, and waiting for them regarding the morrow;

But otherwise, he is neither slack nor delusional.

Such are the heights; none desires to build them

Except he who counts praise as a treasure and a gain.

And verily, if generosity is not sufficient to repel harm,

Then the laying of the sword's edge becomes more decisive in the matter.

The Lord of the Throne singled you out for kingship as a grace,

And he whom the Merciful puts forward is truly the foremost.

You were aided, after God, by a courageous heart,

And the ambition of a daring man regarding what he purposes.

And a day in which you clothed the atmosphere in battle-dust,

Which turned the bright-shining daylight into darkness.

You filled the hearing with thunder, while its sky

Rained down blood upon every tyrant who transgressed.

The swords do not speak except by clashing,

And the heroes do not speak except by inarticulate roars.

How many steeds therein cast their foals prematurely,

And the bay-colored horse returned from it marked for battle.

And the close friend did not recognize his kin

On the morning he saw him veiled in dust.

If they fled to the open desert, the cavalry shackled their fugitives,

And if they fortified themselves, they wasted away in flesh and bone.

You established by it the Throne of Guidance after it had fallen,

And you straightened it with white blades until it stood upright.

Behold, for the sake of God is a precious soul,

Which you generously offered in the tight straits of battle, advancing boldly.

An Imam of guidance; none like him has ever worn the crown,

Nor has any been counted more generous of hand or more noble.

Nor has any led short-haired steeds into the tumult of war,

And shod them with the skulls of the magnified kings.

Like you, O Abdulaziz bin Faisal,

Even if the poets speak at length regarding those who came before.

And verily, a man who does not bind himself by an oath of allegiance to you,

While believing himself to be content and submissive to God's command,

    وَبِئسَ لَعمري مَورِداً مُتَوَخِّماً

    Is surely in confusion regarding his religion, or is obstinate;

And evil, by my life, is such a path to tread.

Is the command not "Obey God, then His Messenger,"

And likewise "The Guardian of Authority," a Muhammadan decree?

And the Best of Messengers, Muhammad, has urged

The slaying of him who splits the unity, whatever his lineage may be.

And he who does not reflect upon the consequences will likely

Fall into the abysses of his ignorance, filled with regret.

And verily, the masters of glory from the House of Muqrin—

They have ever been a covenant and a sanctuary for highness.

They refused that any other should govern it, and they leveled

Before its sanctuary the straightened Samhari spears.

Their spears settled them in the abode of the enemy,

Along with their expending of precious, magnified wealth.

Those are the ones—none excels in striking but them,

When the face of the universe is dusky with battle-dust.

There is no glory but that their glory preceded it,

And no generosity but that it learned from their bounty.

And send blessings, O God of the Worlds, granting peace,

Upon the best of those who prayed, fasted, and entered the sacred state,

Muhammad, the Trustworthy Guide, and his Family,

And his Companions, as long as the rain pours and flows.
