With the passing of youth, revelry and joy declined,
As did memories, cycles, nobles, and the elite.
Young men who surrendered themselves to the chalice,
And fulfilled what the infant of the goblet was owed.
They spent in the way of carousing all they had,
Plundering what belonged to them and what they earned.
Guardians - if you sought their aid they would defend,
And generous - if you asked a gift, they granted.
I reminisced over their nobility and grace,
Well-mannered, from a line of dignified elite.
We did not cease to revel in the gardens of life,
With wine flowing as we were indulged in joy.
The flowers smiled and the breeze wept,
The flute made glad while strings were plucked.
The goblet circled in orbits of delight,
Spinning as we revolved around its rim.
Fate had turned its gaze from us,
No longer shaken by events and misfortunes.
