1. يا دمنة الحيّ أينَ الحيُّ مِن ثُعَلِ

    وأينَ سِرْبُ حُداةِ الأينْقِ البُزِلِ

    O ruins of the abandoned camp, where are the people and where are the graceful gazelles?

    Alas for the camels that carried our souls on the day they departed, they are now wandering with the herds.

  2. واهاً لها إبِلاً يومَ النّوى حملتْ

    أرْواحَنا فهي أَنْضاءٌ مع الأبلِ

  3. قبّلتُ أيدي مَطاياهَم لأحبِسها

  4. وقُلْتُ يا ركَبُ ليلَى عرّسوا فعَسَى

  5. وأينَ مني لَيْلى بعدَمَا نزحتْ

    وخلفتني مَوقوفاً على الطّلَلِ

    I plead to God about a people who departed with the fever, and I don’t say “if only” for something that has passed.

  6. ما أعْشَقُ الدارَ لولا حُبُّ ساكنِه

    ولا الظعَاينُ لولا رَبَّةُ الجمَلِ

    Do not seek certainty after seeing it in the crescent, it does not avail you like Saturn.

    God is the Greatest! This is Yathrib offering itself to the visitors, and this is the seal of the Messengers.

  7. ما كان أحسنَ عيشي لو تقاربَ لي

    أهلُ العقيقِ وكان الشمْلُ لم يَزَلِ

  9. بالله أندبْ قوماً بالحِمى رَحَلوا

    ولاَ أقولُ لشيءٍ فاتَ ليْتَكَ لي

  10. ولا سوى ابنِ الحسينِ أستميحُ يداً

    في لُجةِ البحر ما يُغْني عن الوَشَلِ

  11. لا تطلبّنَّ يقيناً بعدَ رؤيته

    في طلْعَةِ البدر مَا يُغْنيك عن زحَلِ

  12. اللهُ أكبرُ هذه يثربٌ عرضَتْ

    للزائرينَ وهذا خاتمُ الرُّسلِ

  13. إذا الُسُّراةُ أضلّوا قالو قائلهم

    أما ترونَ ضياء الكَوكبِ البجلي

  14. سيروا إلى الطُّورِ والوادي ودوَنكم

    نارُ ابن عمرانَ مَوسى ليلةَ الجبلِ

  15. فثمَّ ابلجُ تثَني الخيَلُ دعوتَه

    شُوسا وتقصف أعوادَ القنا الذبلِ

  16. مُبارك الوجه ما أن حَلّ في بَلدٍ

    الاَّ أقامَ قامَ العَارضِ الهطلِ

  17. يأوي الورى زُمَرِاً منه إلى زمرٍ

    ولن تزال إليه الوفد في زجلِ

  18. يا خيرَ من حَملَتْ أنَثى ومَن وضعَتْ

    وخيرَ حافٍ على الدنيا ومنتعلِ
