لِلهِ في الأرضِ أقوامٌ قد اشْتَملوا

بالعزّ واعتدلوا حقّاً وما عدلُوا

There are people of God on earth who have been endowed

With honor and justice, truly just they are

إن حدّثُوا صَدَقُوا أو كلّموا رَفَقُوا

أو شُوفِهُوا نطقوا أو حُوكِموا عَدَلُوا

If they speak, they speak truthfully, if they talk, they do so gently

If they are consulted, they speak judiciously, if they judge, they judge equitably

باللهِ قد وثقوا بالدين قد خُلِقُوا

للخيرِ قد وُفِّقُوا للهِ قد عَمِلُوا

They have faith in God, they were created for religion

They were guided to good, they worked for God

أكرمْ بهم سادةً أصحابَ مكرمةٍ

تراهمْ مشرقي الألوانِ إن سُئِلوا

Honor them, O leaders of nobility

You see them with radiant faces if asked

هُمْ القضاةُ الثقاتُ السادةُ اتفقت

آثارهم كلهُّم عدلا وما غَفَلُوا

They are the trusted judges, the masters who agree

All their effects are just, they do not neglect

منهم إمامُ الهدى الزاكى الولىّ فتىً

سيفُ بن مالك السَّامى هو البطلُ

Among them is the Imam of guidance, the virtuous guardian, the youth

Saif bin Malik al-Sami, he is the hero

والشيخ قُدْوَتُنا عبدُ الإلهِ في

محمد بن على العادلُ الوجلُ

And our exemplar Shaykh Abdullah

Muhammad bin Ali, the just, the resolute

وشيخُنا راشدٌ نسلُ الفتَى خلَف

أولئك السادةُ الأخيارُ قد كَمُلُوا

And our Shaykh Rashid, scion of the gallant youth

Those good masters have attained perfection

عَنهم أَخَذْنَا أُصولَ الدين جملتنا

والحقَّ قالوا وَما في قولهمن خَطَلُ

From them we took all the fundamentals of religion, all of us

They spoke the truth and there is no falsehood in their words

وأفهمونَا بمَا يحووُنَ من نُكتٍ

غريبةٍ ما بها لحنٌ ولا زَلَلُ

And they made us understand the subtle, strange points

That contain no errors or mistakes

هُمْ أَوْضحُوا حجةَ الإحرام بَيِّنَةً

مضيئةً مِنْ علومِ الشرعِ واعْتَدلُوا

They elucidated the clear proof of ihram in jurisprudence

Shining from the sciences of Sharia and they were just

وَأَسْمَعُوا مَن تصلِّى خَلفهم معهم

بضمةٍ لهكذَا استنباطُ مَا فَعَلُوا

They let those who pray behind and with them recite with a vowel

Thus they deduced what they did

وهاكم معشرَ الإسلامِ قول رضىً

فعوجوا وأجيبوا الداع واحتفلُوا

And here is, O community of Islam, an accepted saying

So be responsive and answer the caller and celebrate

وأقبلوا وأطيلُوا فيه فكركُم

وأكرموه وفي تحصيلهِ اشتَغلُوا

And accept and ponder it thoroughly

And honor it and occupy yourselves with learning it

وأهلموه قُلوباً طال مَا وَجِلَتْ

وهْو المقالُ الذي ما فيه مُدَّخَلُ

And inspire hearts that have longed for it

It is the saying which contains no insertion

في الذكرِ أصلُ له والأصلُ متبعٌ

وقد رَوَتْه ثقاتٌ سادةٌ فَضُلُوا

In mentioning it is the origin and the origin must be followed

Trustworthy masters have narrated it, they are virtuous

فاتَّبِعُوا وأطيعُوا واسمعُوا كلماً

لهَا أصولٌ بشرعِ الدين تشتملُ

So follow, obey, and listen to a word

That has origins in the Sharia of religion it contains

خلّوا التنازعَ والتقليدَ وادكروا

وأقْبِلوا لكتابِ اللهِ واحْتَمِلُوا

Abandon contention and imitation and remember

And turn to the Book of God and endure

اللهُ أكبرُ مثلُ الله أعلمُ في القرآن

جاءت مراراً ليس تَنْتقلُ

God is greatest, none is like God, the Quran states repeatedly

It does not move from its place

كلُّ على أصلِه يجرى وعادتُه

حتى تحولَه الأسبابُ والعِللُ

Each runs its own course and way

Until circumstances and causes change it

واللهُ أنزلَ آياتٍ مبينةً

لها ضياءٌ كنور الشمس يشتعلُ

And God sent down clear verses

With a brilliance like the blazing sun

كيما يقاس علهيا ما يشابهُها

من الأصول التي في الشرعِ تمتثِلُ

So that similar fundamentals in Sharia

Are analogized to them and conform

ولا تنازع في القرآن بينهم

قد جوزوا آلةَ التسكينِ إنْ فَصَلُوا

There is no contention regarding the Quran among them

They allowed the prolongation mark if they paused

فليأتِ بالحجةِ البيضاءِ واضحةً

من الكتابِ الذي جاءت به الرسُلُ

So let him bring the clear, white proof

From the Book brought by the messengers

أو سنةِ المصطفى المتخارِ سيدنا

خيرِ البرايَا الذي دَانَتْ له الملكُ

Or the Sunna of the chosen Mustafa, our master

The best of creations, to whom belong the kingdoms

أو احتماعٍ من الأخيار ليسَ به

تنازعٌ بينهم في كلِّ مَا يصِلُ

Or consensus of the virtuous, in which

There is no contention regarding anything that connects

أو من كتابٍ من الآثارِ بغفلة

عن الأثمةِ مأثوراً بما فَعلُوا

Or from a book of narrations heedlessly

Without the leading scholars, transmitted from what they did

نخضعْ ونسمعْ ونتبعْ ما يقولُ بهِ

من المقالِ ولا يجمحْ بنا العَذَلُ

We submit, listen and follow what is said

By the statement and we are not led by caprice

قدْ قالَ ربى قولا لا مردَّ لهُ

في الذكر فاجتمعُوا في بحثِه وسَلُوا

My Lord has spoken a word that cannot be rejected

In the Book, so unite in discussing it and inquire

فإِنْ تنازعتُمُ في الأمر بينكم

ردُّوا إلى اللهِ كلَّ الأمرِ وامتثلُوا

And if you dispute over a matter amongst yourselves

Refer it to God, the command entirely, and conform

تلقوا براهينَ كلِّ الدين ساطعةً

مثلَ المصابيحِ نوراً مَا بهَا ظُلَلُ

Receive the proofs of the whole religion, shining

Like lamps, with no darkness in them

ومن تعلَّق بالقرآنِ حَسْبُكَ مِن

ركنٍ شديدٍ وما في أصْلِه جَدَلُ

And suffice yourself with adherence to the Quran

A strong pillar, no argument in its origin

كَفَى به حجةً في الأرضِ واضحةً

إذا تنازعَ مَنْ في الأرض أو جَهِلُوا

It suffices as clear proof on earth

When those in the earth dispute or are ignorant
