You, my inclination, have made me ill

With ambition for the possessors of beauty

    Soft, delicate, lovely, fair

    Bright complexioned, enchanting eyes

And for all who are joyfully beautiful

    Exquisite, unique in their image

    And for every elegant, refined

    High built structure, sublime

And for the delight of gardens, where palms

And trees and the cool shade

Rather, the heart insisted on sending me

To graze in the meadows of the beauties

My heart said, the ears informed me

By hearing from them to reaching them

I said to the ear, how do you listen

To sound from an image in the market of flirts

Then he guides it to the heart until

It was in anguish and preoccupied

The heart said, the master of every limb

He is our sultan, without argument

So if he wants to manage something

Every limb obeys him in deeds

You, you are the focus in every situation

I do not know any deeds from the deeds

Never does an ear hear, and an eye

Inform me about women and men

Every limb comes to me with a matter

So I was confused in great preoccupation

He is justice, truthful in speech

    For every falsehood and misguidance

So I became ill from your adornment, long

    My time shackled in ineptitude

So fear Allah, O my loved ones, you

If you improve one day, my state will improve

So be upright in your life, do not incline

If you are just, I will be balanced
