لا شُغْلَ لي في أولٍ أو حاضرِ

لكنْ فؤادِي في هوَى المستقبلِ

I have no concern for past or present,

But my heart is enthralled with future's glow.

فالنفسُ مولَعة بما قَدْ تَرتجِى

وقد انفتحتْ عَن حاضرٍ كالأولِ

For the soul craves what it hopes to get,

And has opened up to a present like the past.
