1. أبلعربُ الملكُ الهُمام العادلُ

    أنت الفتَى وبكَ استقامَ العادلُ

    O noble Arab king, defender of justice

    You are the virtuous one, through whom justice prevails

  2. لا خابَ من يرجُو نَوَالك في الندى

    مِنْ ذى الوَرَى لكن يَخيبُ العاذلُ

    None who hopes for your bounty is disappointed

    Except the hopeless one with no vision

  3. أنت الخصمُّ الزاخرُ العذبُ الذي

    من جوده خَجِلُ الأنىُّ السائلُ

    You are the generous foe, sweet-tongued

    Your munificence puts beseechers to shame

  4. فكأنَما عاهدتَ نفسَكَ أو حَلَفْتَ

    أليّةً أن لا يخيبَ السائلُ

    As if you had sworn an oath to yourself

    That no supplicant shall leave empty-handed

  5. وإذا الكِرَامُ تفاخرتْ بمكارمٍ

    وتفاضلتْ يوماً فأنتَ الفاضلُ

    When the generous boast of their generosity

    And compete in magnanimity, you are the most generous

  6. وإذا الكماةُ تقاعَسَتْ في مَأْزِقٍ

    أو أحْجَمت يوماً فأنث الواصِلُ

    When the brave falter in predicaments

    Or hesitate one day, you are the boldest

  7. يا طالباً منه ندىً لا تبدهِ

    فالسؤلُ منه بلا سؤالٍ حاصلُ

    O you who seek his bounty, do not ask

    To receive from him, ask not, for asking is fruitless

  8. أأخافُ من ريبِ الزمانِ وصرفهِ

    وبحبلِ وُدٍّ منك حَبْلِي وَاصِلُ

    Shall I fear the vicissitudes of time?

    When tied to you by a cord of love, I'm connected

  9. كم طوقتْ نُعْمَاك أعناقَ الوَرَى

    وسرتْ إليهم مِن لدُنك وَسَائِلُ

    How your favors have adorned the necks of mankind

    And conduits of blessings flow to them from you

  10. فكأنما آليتَ أنَّكَ لا تردْ

    دَ السائلين فلمْ يَخِبْ لك سائِلُ

    As if you have decreed that you shall never turn away

    A supplicant, thus no beseecher leaves you deprived

  11. وإذا أمرؤٌ أقْوتْ محلّتُه ولم

    يسألْ نداكَ فأنتَ عنه مُسائِلُ

    And if a man grows poor, not asking for your aid

    You take it upon yourself to provide for him

  12. ما أَمَّ يحرَك آملٌ يرجو ندىً

    إلا وفاء بما يُرَجِّى الآمِلُ

    No hopeful wishing for bounty makes a plea

    Except you fulfill what the hopeful wishes for

  13. ما شامَ برقَ سحابِ كفك شائمٌ

    إلا وأغرقه هَتُونٌ وَابِلُ

    No blamer has tasted the lightning of your palm

    Except he was drowned in a pouring rain

  14. وعنتْ إليكَ قُيُولها ومُلوكها

    طَوْعاً وكلٌّ واقفٌ مُتضَائلُ

    Their hearts and kings willingly submit to you

    Each standing reverently, hat-in-hand

  15. يَرِدُون بحراً من نوالِك زاخراً

    عذباً فراتاً لم يحطه سائِلُ

    Seeking from your endless bounty a generous flood

    A sweet Euphrates that no asker can exhaust

  16. لا تفقدنّ فتىً بنزوى فاضلاً

    ذَا قاعدٌ يرجو وهذا مَاثِلُ

    Do not neglect a virtuous youth in Nizwa

    Who though seated hopes, while this one stands

  17. عِشْ في الممالك في النعيم مخلداً

    عمراً فما لكَ في الأنامِ مُماثلُ

    Live forever in kingdoms, enjoying eternal bliss

    For none can match you among all people

  18. زانتْ بك الدنيا فأنتَ سرُورها

    ونعيمُها وبكَ استقامَ المائلُ

    Through you, life is graced, you are its joy

    And its bounty, you set the wavering straight

  19. لولاكَ ما طابتْ حياةٌ لامرئٍ

    حقّاً وما التذّ المآكلَ عاقلُ

    Without you no one's life would be pleasant

    Truly, no mind would savor a meal

  20. ما الدهرُ ما الدنيا وما لذاتُها

    فالدهرُ أنتَ ونورُ وجهك شَامِلُ

    What is time, what is the world, what are its pleasures?

    For time is you, your light envelops all
