أطلِقْ لسانَكَ ما تَشَا

لا يعتَرِى قلبي إبَاءُ

Speak your mind freely, do not restrain

My heart bears no grudge or disdain

قُلْ ما تقولُ من المَقَا

لَةِ لا يُحَرِّكُنى سَفَاءُ

Say what you will, your harsh words

Cannot stir my tranquility sane

أتتُوبُ من شيءِ تجو

زُ وفي الفُؤادِ لكَ الصَّفَاءُ

If you wrong me, I'll not complain

My heart still holds affection and warmth for you plain

لو كُنتَ تقطَعُ أُنْمُلى

بالعَضْبِ فهْي لكَ الفِداءُ

If you sever my fingers in disdain

I'll offer them to you, not in vain

لا تحسبنِّي ضِقْتُ ذَرْ

عاً فافعَلَنَّ كما تَشَاءُ

Think not I'm weak, helpless and small

Do as you please, I'll endure it all

أتظُنُّ هذا الظَّنَّ فِيْ

ىَ ونورُ وجهك لي جِلاءُ

Can you think I hold such thoughts dim?

Your radiant face illuminates all within

إنَّي ولى قلبٌ إلى

لُقياكَ لَرَّحَهُ العَنَاءُ

My heart constrained until we meet again

Tormented by separation and pain

دَعْنا نُقَضِّي العُمْرَ في

مَنْحٍ ويجمعُا الرَّخَاءُ

Let's spend our life in joyful refrain

And gather in days of peace and gain

فِلمَ البِعادُ وأنتَ ذُو

خيرٍ وما هذا الشفَاءُ

Why stay apart when you are so kind?

This separation offers no heal or bind

فاللّهَ فيما قد بَقِى

مِ العُمْرِ فهْو لنا نَمَاءُ

May God preserve what remains

Of our life, and make it grow and sustain

فالعُمْرُ ظلٌّ زائلٌ

لا زالَ يطلُبُهُ الفَنَاءُ

For life is a fleeting shade

Ever vanishing as nights and days fade

وعليكَ يا محبوبُ من

أهل الوِداد لكَ السَّنَاءُ

You, my beloved, deserve all acclaim

From those who cherish you, pure and sane
