1. هُنِّيتَ بالنصر موعوداً لك الظفَرُ

    وما تحاوله يمضى به القَدَرُ

    You were promised victory, and victory is destined for you

    Whatever you attempt will be decreed by fate

  2. يَمَّمتَ نحوَ العِدى غرّاً غطارفةٌ

    شُمَّ الأنوف شداداً زَانها الغُرَرُ

    You marched towards the enemy, a daring and impetuous warrior

    With proud noses, adorned with arrogance

  3. وفيهمُ سادةٌ مِن يعربٍ سطعتْ

    وُجوهُهم كَبُدُورِ التِّم تَزْدهِر

    Among them are chiefs from the tribe of Ya'rub whose faces

    Shine like full moons blossoming

  4. تخَاُلهم في ظُهور الخيل أُسْد شَرًى

    تجرى بهم في الوغَى والحرب تَسْتَعِمُر

    Their vain prancing on the horses' backs make them seem

    Like fierce lions charging into battle to conquer

  5. تَرْمِى بأنفسها والأُسْدُ حائرةٌ

    في مَأْزَق الحرب والأرماحُ تَشتَجِرُ

    Throwing themselves into danger while the lions are perplexed

    Amidst the perils of war as the spears clash

  6. بُوركْتَ مِن ملكٍ عَدْل ومِنْ حَكمٍ

    لاَ زلْتَ دَهْراً على الأملاكِ تَفْتَخِرُ

    You were blessed by a just king and wise rule

    You have always prided yourself on your kingdoms

  7. أنت الغنىُّ عن الأملاك كُلهمُ

    وكل حَيٍّ إليك الدهرَ يفتَقرُ

    You have no need for any kingdom, while every soul alive

    Depends on you throughout time

  8. فمَا يساويك مَن في باعه سعةٌ

    أَنْى يُساويك مَن في باعه قِصرُ

    None can equal you, though they boast great power

    How can anyone equal you, though their power be great?

  9. فُقْتَ البريَّة في عدْل وفي خُلق

    وكل خَلْقٍ سِواك اليوم مُحْتَقَرُ

    You surpassed the desert in justice and moral conduct

    While all other creations today are worthless

  10. مالي أرَى عُصبة تاهوا وعِندهمُ

    سِواك كل عظيم ما له قَدَرُ

    Why do I see a group gone astray, who have beside them

    Save you, every mighty one is worthless?

  11. ويُورِد الرمح في لَباتهم سلَماً

    وليس يصدرُ إلا وهْو مُنكسرُ

    They thrust their spears into their sides harmlessly

    As every blow fails and is broken

  12. فالحربُ ساطعةٌ والبِيض لامعةٌ

    كأنها بالصقال الأنجمُ الزهُرُ

    The war rages and the swords shine

    As if they are sparkling stars smiling with joy

  13. اللَّهُ أكبرَ إنّ العدلَ مُشتهرٌ

    والجور مُنطمِسٌ والحقَّ مُنتصرُ

    God is great! Justice prevails

    And injustice is erased as truth triumphs

  14. ونارُ أهل الخَنا والجَورِ خامدةٌ

    ونورُ أهل الهدَى والدِّينُ مُزْدَهِرُ

    The fire of the unjust and the oppressors is extinguished

    While the light of the righteous and the faithful glows

  15. ودولةُ العدل لا زالتْ مظفرةً

    ودولةُ الجهل معدومٌ بها الظفرُ

    The state of justice remains victorious

    While the state of ignorance is defeated, with no victory

  16. بطلعةِ اليعربىّ النَّدبِ سيدنا

    ذاكَ الإمام الهمام الصَّارم الذكرُ

    With the dawn of Ya'rub their chief our master

    That imam, the protector, the firm of remembrance

  17. مهذبُ الرأْى محمودُ الخلائق مأْ

    مُونُ البَوائِق صاٍف مَابه كَدرُ

    The wise, the praised of character, protector of the innocent

    The pure, in him no blemish

  18. إنْ صَالَ يوماً على الأعداءِ في رَهَجٍ

    بِصارم الحدِّ لا يُبقى ولا يَذَرُ

    If he marches one day against the enemies in rage

    With his sharp sword none will remain or escape

  19. قد أجْمَعوا أمرهم سرّاً ومكرَهُمُ

    غدراً فأعْقَبهم إهلاكُ ما مَكرُوا

    They secretly plotted and schemed treachery

    So their destruction came from what they plotted

  20. ظنوا بأنْ يَربحوا فاجتثَّ دابرُهم

    وكيف يربحٌُ مَن قد خانَه الظفرُ

    They thought to profit but their roots were uprooted

    How can one profit when victory has betrayed him?

  21. تقولُ أجسادُهم لو أنها نطقتْ

    عِبارة يا أُولى الأبصار فاعْتبِرُوا

    Their bodies, if only they could speak, would say

    "O you who see, take heed and learn!"

  22. تعساً لهم وخساراً خابَ سَعيهمُ

    لا هُم عملوا خيراً وقد خَسرُوا

    Woe to them! Their efforts failed, though they acted not with good, and still they lost

    If only they had minds to understand

  23. لو أنّ ثَمّ عُقولا يَفقهون بها

    تَفكّرُوا في خطوبِ الدهر وادكرُوا

    To reflect on the strokes of fate and remember

    But they rejected the signs of their Lord

  24. لكنهم جحدوا آياتِ ربهمُ

    إنْ لم يَتُوبوا فَمأْوَى كُلِّهم سَقرُ

    If they do not repent, their refuge will be Hellfire

    Whoever defies and disobeys the Merciful

  25. وَمَنْ طَغى وعَصى الرحمنَ خالقَه

    فليس تنفعهُ الآياتُ والنذُرُ

    Signs and warnings will not benefit him

    These ones defied in their quest and transgressed

  26. وهؤلاءِ طغوْا في سَعيهم وبغوا

    وغرَّ بعضهم بعضاً بما ائتمرُوا

    Some urging others on in their conspiracy

    If they were just they would have obeyed Allah and complied

  27. لو أنْصَفوا لأَطاعوا اللَّه وامتثَلوا

    أَمْرَ الإمام وقاموا بالذي أُمِرُوا

    With the imam's command and done as ordered

    But they conspired to break the pact and falsely claimed

  28. لكن تواصَوْا بنقض العَهدِ وانتحلُوا

    خلافَ ما أمرُوا حقّاً وما ازْدَجَرُوا

    To oppose what they were commanded and deterred from

    In truth they are beasts, with no intellect

  29. هُم البهائمُ حقّاً لا عُقُول لهم

    وإِنْ رأيتَ خيالا أنَّهم بَشَرُ

    Though you imagine they are mortals

    Blind and deaf they forgot the favours of their master

  30. عَمُوا وصَمُّوا نَسُوا آلاءً سيّدهم

    بلعْربٍ نسل سلطانٍ وما ذَكرُوا

    Of Ya'rub, the sultan's line, forgetting to recall

    They are his servants who betrayed him and so were defeated

  31. هُمُ عَبيدٌ له خانوه فانهزمُوا

    وما يضرهُمُ لو أنهم صبَرُوا

    It would not harm them to have waited patiently

    They betrayed, so disbelief in His blessings repaid them

  32. خانُوا فأَعقبَهم كُفرا بنعمتِه

    عُقوبتين وبالخسران قد ظَفِرُوا

    A twofold punishment, and loss they reaped

    Whether you distance them from our abodes, they will return

  33. إن أَنتَ أبعدتَهم عن دُورنا مردُوا

    على النفاق وإن قربتهم غَدرُوا

    To hypocrisy, and if you bring them near, they will betray

    Deceived by your noble morals

  34. غرَّتهمُ مِنك أخلاقٌ مطهرةٌ

    وأرفةٌ ونوالٌ مِنك مُنهمِرُ

    And kindness, your gifts pour upon them

    They know not that you are the king to whom

  35. وما دَرَوْا أنك الملكُ الذي خضعَتْ

    له مُلوكُ الورَى والبَدْوُ والحَضرُ

    The kings of the world bow, the nomads and the settled alike

    That you are the executioner, the slaughterer, empowered

  36. وأنَّك الصارمُ البتَّارُ مُنْصَلِتاً

    عَلَى الأعادِى وَفي علياكَ مُقتدِرُ

    Against enemies, while none can overpower you

    If they had known, no defiance would have appeared

  37. ولو دَرَوْا ما بَدَتْ منهم مُخالَفةٌ

    ولا أحاطَ بهم سُوءٌ ولا نُكُرُ

    No evil would have surrounded them or disgrace

    They were wary of your deeds against them

  38. قد حاذَرُوا مِن أمور أَنتَ صانعُها

    بهم نكالاً فلم ينفعهم الحذَرُ

    In punishment, but their caution did not benefit them

    You scattered them, breaking their pact

  39. فرّقتهم فِرقاً فانحلَّ عِقْدُهم

    بما أَساءُوا وعن أبنائهم نَفرُوا

    For the evil they committed, their sons abandoned them

    Some now suffer endless torment

  40. فمنهمُ في عذابٍ لا نفادَ له

    ومنهمُ في قيود فكُّها عَسِرُ

    Others wear shackles too strong to break

    Others lie confined in narrow pits

  41. ومنهمُ في مَطاميرٍ مُضيقةٍ

    بها الأَراقِمُ والديدانُ والقذَرُ

    With scorpions, worms and filth as company

    Others lie defeated, their heads in the sun

  42. ومنهمُ في رؤوس الشمِّ مُنهزما

    ومنهمُ في مفازاتٍ وما قُبرُوا

    Others in deserted places, their graves unknown

    All praise to Allah! We are safe while no

  43. والحمدُ للَّه نحن السالمِونَ ولا

    يَسُوءُنَا حالُ قومٍ إن هُمُ كَفرُوا

    Harm can reach us from people who disbelieve

    O people! If you possess sight and none

  44. يا أيُّها الناسُ إْن كنتم أُولو بصرٍ

    وليس يْعقلُ إلا مَنْ له بَصرُ

    Can reason save those with vision

    Reflect and recall the favours of your master

  45. فَفكِّرُوا واذكرُوا آلاء سَيِّدكم

    فهو الإمامُ الكريمُ الباسلُ النمرُ

    The generous, valiant, fierce lion

    Whoever of you commits a sin, He forgives

  46. ومَن أتى الذنبَ مِنكم فهْو يغفرُه

    وكلُّ ذنبٍ سِوى الإشراكِ مُغتفرُ

    Every sin but idolatry is pardoned

    The imam for you all is a fortress and refuge

  47. إنّ الإمام لكم حصنٌ وملتجَأٌ

    مِن العِدَى فاشْكُروا نعْمَاه وائتمرُوا

    From enemies, so thank Him for the bounties and obey!

    If you thank Him, you will prosper in this world and the next

  48. إن تشكرُوا تَفْلَحوا دُنيا وآخرة

    فإنه من ذَوِى الكفران مُنتَصِرُ

    For He is victorious over the ungrateful

    Do not say you have no need of His gifts

  49. ولا تقُولوا غَنِينا عن مواهبهِ

    فكُلُّ خلقٍ إلى جَدواه مُفْتَقرُ

    Every soul depends on His generosity

    He knows neither substitutes nor excuses

  50. لا يعرفُ الخلفَ في وَعْد ولا عِدَةٍ

    وإنْ أتاهُ فقيرٌ ليس يَعْتَذِرُ

    If a beggar comes he makes no apologies

    Awake, if the afflicted seek his court

  51. يَقْظان إن يمَّم العافون ساحتَه

    أَغْناهُمُ بنوالٍ منه ينْهَمِزُ

    He enriches them with gifts streaming from him

    If he counts the days of his generosity no day

  52. إنْ عدَّ في الجودِ يوماً لا يُشَاكِلُه

    في جُوده الأجْودان البحرُ والمطرُ

    Can match it - in liberality, the sea and the rain are stingy!

    If you see a glimpse of his inspiring generosity

  53. وإن بدَا طالعاً لآلاء غُرَّته

    تكوَّرُ النيِّران الشمس والقمرُ

    The sun and moon curl up in shame

    If all creation were weighed together

  54. ولو وزنَّا جميع الخلق قاطبةَ

    بظفر خِنصرِه أَزْرَى بهم ظُفرُ

    His victories would weigh heaviest on the scale

    O king we hope for, we have a need

  55. يا أيُّها الملكُ المرجوُّ إنَّ لنا

    لحاجةً نحن نرجُوهَا وننتظرُ

    We hope for and await

    Whenever I stretch out my hand seeking aid

  56. فما بسطتُ يدى أرجُو مساعدةً

    إلا وكفُّك لى بالجود ينحدِرُ

    Your palm rains generosity upon me

    How can I deny blessings which drench me

  57. وكيف أجحدُ نُعمَى وَهْي سابغةٌ

    علىَّ في صِغرى حتى أتى الكِبرُ

    From childhood to old age?

    If my sight, hearing and sons all

  58. لو أنّ تجلى وعمى وابنَه وأبي

    عَادَوْكَ عاديتُهم ديناً وإن هَجَرُوا

    Opposed you, I would take them as enemies and shun them

    By God, if my soul harboured any defiance

  59. واللَّهِ لو أضمرتْ نفسى مخالفةً

    لكم تبرأتُ منها كالذي غَبرُوا

    I would reject it like one who is buried

    To you belong the kingdoms and heights, perfected

  60. لك الممالكُ والعلياءُ كاملة

    وللأعادِى ترابُ الأرض والحجرُ

    While the enemies have dust, stone and pebbles

    Live delighted and joyful in your palace

  61. وعِشْ ودمْ وابق مسروراً ومُبْتَهِجاً

    في قصر يَبْرِينَ يجْرِى تحته نهَرُ

    In Yabreen, with a river flowing beneath

    A wondrous palace pleasing all who see it

  62. قصرٌ مَشيدٌ يسرُّ الناظرين إذا

    نظرتَه زال عنك الهمُّ والكدرُ

    Grief and anxiety disappear at the sight

    In it is joy, every fruit

  63. فيه السرورُ وفيه كل فاكهةٍ

    يحوطُه النخل والرمانُ والشجرُ

    Palms, pomegranates and trees surround it

    What no eye has seen or thoughts occurred

  64. وفيه مالا رأتْ عينٌ ولا خَطرتْ

    به الخواطرُ والأوهامُ والفِكَرُ

    To imaginations, ideas or ponderings

    As if it is the Garden of Paradise, a dwelling

  65. كأنه جنةُ الفردوس منزلة

    فيها الفواكهُ والخيراتُ والسررُ

    Wherein are fruits, bounties and joys

    Around it, a meadow, verdant, spacious

  66. وحوله روضةٌ غناءٌ وارفةٌ

    فيها الأطايبُ والأشجارُ والثمرُ

    Wherein are fragrances, trees and fruits

    So beautiful, so sublime its shining bliss

  67. من حُسنها وسناً أنوار بهجتهَا

    إذا نظرتَ إليها يَقصُر النظرُ

    When you look to it, sights fall short

    It delights you with eternal life without end

  68. هنَّيتَه ببقاءِ لا نَفاد له

    مخلداً فيه ممدوداً لك العمرُ

    Abiding there, immortal, your life is long

    While the hostile, envious, grieving one is distraught

  69. والباغِضُ الحاسدُ المحزونُ في وَلَهٍ

    مُكَبَّلٌ حَظّهُ الأحزانُ والسهرُ

    His lot is sorrow and sleeplessness

    You ascend to the highest rank passing

  70. وَأنت في درجِ العلياءِ مرتقياً

    ما مرَّ ذو الحجة الزهراءِ أو صَفرُ

    The brightest Capella or Safar

    You are the summit of glories, O Caliph of whom

  71. وَأنت خِدْن المعالى يا خليفة من

    تضمنتْ مَدحَه الآيات والسورُ

    Quranic verses and chapters tell

    He is the Prophet, the Pleased, the one sent from Mudhar

  72. هو النبىُّ الرضىُّ المبعوثُ مِن مُضر

    ناهيك من جدُّه عدنانُ أو مضرُ

    Not to mention his ancestor Adnan or Mudhar

    I circulated your praises east and west as long as

  73. نشرتُ مدحك في الآفاق ما طلعت

    شمس وما لاح في جنح الدجى قمرُ

    The sun rose and the moon shone in night's wing

    You are existence, this world and its joy

  74. أنت الخلائقُ والدنيا وبهجتها

    لولاكَ ما كانت الدنيا ولا البشَرُ

    Without you, there would be neither world nor mankind
