1. سمعاًوطوعاً للإما

    مِ اليعربى المقتدرْ

    Listen and obey the Imam

    The victorious Arab leader

  2. سيف بن سلطان بن

    سيفٍ ذِى المعالِى والقُدَرْ

    Sword of Sultan bin Seif

    Of glorious deeds and power

  3. فهُوَ الإمام ابن الإما

    م ابن الهمامِ المنتصِرْ

    He is the Imam son of Imam

    The victorious protector's son

  4. وابنُ الجحاجحةِ الذ

    ين وجوههم مثلُ الغررْ

    And son of Al-Jihjahjah who

    Faces like shining gems

  5. أهلُ الفضائل والوسا

    ئل والرسائل والسيَرْ

    People of virtues, means

    Messages, conducts and moons

  6. وذوُو الموائد والفوا

    ئد والفرائد والبِدَرْ

    Of feasts, benefits and gems

    The noble chiefs with spears bared

  7. وهمُ الغطارفةُ الأُلى

    سادُوا بِسَيْبٍ مُنهمرْ

    This Imam, leader of justice

    Famed for his glorious feats

  8. هذا الإمامُ إمامُ عد

    ل بالمآثر يشتهرْ

    Not imposing his own view

    Wise, insightful and patient

  9. لا يستبدُّ برأْيه

    فهو الحليمُ أخو بَصرْ

    Consulting those present

    When making a decision

  10. وإذا أرادَ إرادةً

    في الخلق شاورَ من حضَرْ

    Spreading God's justice on earth

    Openly and generously

  11. قد بثَّ عدلَ اللَّهِ في

    الآفاقِ طرَّا فاشتهرْ

    His fairness covered the land

    Like sunshine and coercion

  12. عمَّ البسيطةَ عدلُه

    كالشمس نوراً والقسرْ

    How much did he pardon those

    Who sinned immensely and forgive

  13. كمْ قد عفا عمّن جنَى

    الذنبَ العظيمَ وكم غفرْ

    O you, man, be cautious

    And listen to advice most wise

  14. يا أيُّها الرجلُ ابتدِرْ

    واسمعْ نصيحةَ معْتبرْ

    I advise you not to disobey

    Our master the most righteous

  15. أوصيكمُ لا تركبُوا

    عصيانَ سيدِنا الأبرُّ

    Let those with reason cry out

    My advice for them to learn

  16. منُ كان يعقلُ فليُصِخْ

    لنصيحتى كىْ يَعْتبرْ

    And count disobeying the good Imam

    Amongst the greatest sins

  17. ويَعُدُّ عصيانَ الإمامِ

    البرّ من إحْدى الكبرْ

    That is Sultan bin Seif's son

    Disobeying him is blasphemy

  18. ذاك ابنُ سلطان بن سيف

    من عصاهُ لقد كَفَرْ

    He who disobeys the Imam

    Has done something abhorred

  19. إن الذي يعصى الإما

    م فقد أتى شيئا نُكُرْ

    Misguided by his worldly life

    Deceived by what is false

  20. هذا الذى قد غرَّه

    من دَهْرِه ما قد غبرْ

    Let the reasonable reflect

    On my advice and look

  21. فليعتبرْ مَن كان ذَا

    عقلٍ يقيسُ وذَا بصرْ

    Be wise, judicious

    Prudent and thoughtful

  22. كن عاقلا ومميزاً

    ذَا فطنةٍ وأخَا فِكَرْ

    Reason deters its people

    Madmen are in danger

  23. والعقلُ يردعُ أهلَه

    وذوُو الجنون على خَطرْ

    This Imam warns you

    Of a painful punishment

  24. هذا الإمامُ لكمْ نَذ

    يرٌ مِن عذابٍ مستعِرْ

    So have hope in him and listen

    To all his bans and orders

  25. فارجُوه واستمِعُوا له

    فيما نَهاكُمْ أو أمرْ

    He warns you so heeding suffices

    Warnings need not be repeated

  26. فهو النذيرُ لكمْ فَعُوا

    وأظنها تغنى النذرْ

    Did you not see them gather

    From valleys and settlements

  27. أو لم يروهم يَجْمعُو

    ن مِن البوادِى والحضَرْ

    All assembled in Zawya

    Each awaiting and hoping

  28. حضرُوا جميعاً في ذُرَى

    نَزْوى وكلٌّ مُنتِظر

    In a distressing standstill

    Lesson for the hesitant

  29. في مَوقف ضنكِ المسالِك

    عبرةٌ للمزْدَجَر

    Bewildered, no liability

    Until it was said, no sin or blame

  30. فتحيَّروا طرّاً إلى

    أَنْ قيل كَلاَّ لاَ وَزَرْ

    You see them gathered

    Like scattered locusts

  31. وتراهُمُ في جَمعهم

    مثلَ الجرادِ المُنتِشرْ

    Bowing down to the King

    Master, hero, most righteous

  32. هُمْ مُهْطِعُونَ إلى المليكِ

    السيد البطل الأبرّْ

    Whispering as if competing

    To the most honored position

  33. يتخافتُون كأنهم

    يتسابقُون إلى الصدَرْ

    The middle says: when

    Will our distress be relieved

  34. ويقولُ أَوْسطهم مَتى

    يقضَى لنا هذا الوَطَر

    Often calling unto their Lord

    With night and dawn prayers

  35. يَدْعون ربهمُ كثيراً

    بالأصائِل والبُكَر

    As if it's Judgement Day

    No escape or deliverance

  36. فكأنهم يوم القيا

    مةِ لا نجاةَ ولا مفَرّْ

    Each sees no survival

    Awaiting news in trepidation

  37. كلٌّ يرَى أن ليس يس

    تبقَى وينتظرُ الخبَر

    They will not defend each other

    If the matter is difficult

  38. لَنْ يدفعُوا عن بعِضهم

    شيئاً إذا أمرٌ عسَرْ

    Do not blame him for gathering

    Creatures and awaiting

  39. لا تنكرُوا منه إذا

    جمع الخلائق وانتظَرْ

    O wise ones, do not disobey

    What he has commanded

  40. يا أيُّها العقلاءُ لاَ

    تَعْصُوه فيما قد أمَر

    And sincerely advise

    In what he has predestined

  41. ومن النصيحةِ أخلِصُوا

    نِيَّاتكم فيما جَبَرْ

    Men's manners have changed

    And morals were commanded

  42. وتغَيرتْ خُلق الرجا

    لِ وكلُّ خلق قد أُمِرْ

    Their colors have mixed

    The pure muddled

  43. وتلوَّنتْ ألوانهم

    وَأُرٍيق في الصفْوِ الكدَر

    Oppressors' injustice spread

    Openly on the innocent

  44. واشتدّ ظُلم الظالمينَ

    على البريّةِ واشْتهر

    The Imam saved the people

    With the Almighty's help

  45. فتدارَك الخلقَ الإما

    مُ بعون رب مُقْتَدِر

    Saving them from distress

    Protecting them from all evil

  46. نَجَّاهُم من وَرْطَةٍ

    وَوَقاهُمُ مِن كلِّ شرّ

    Oman was lost without him

    God's justice spread on earth

  47. تَاهَتْ عمانُ به فعدْ

    لُ اللَّهِ في الأرض انتشَر

    He's the drawn sword

    The valiant hero

  48. فهو الحسام المُعتضَى

    وهو الشجاع المُبتدَر

    Like a meteor appearing

    Or spreading wildfire

  49. مثل الشهاب إذا انْبرَى

    أو كالحريق المستعِر

    Who can escape when he rises

    Brandishing his sharp blade

  50. كيف الخلاصُ إذا بَدا

    أو هزّ صارِمَه الذَّكَر

    Or fault the just Sultan's rule

    Except the foolish of humanity

  51. أو مَن يعيبُ بجهله

    سلطان عدل إن قَهرْ

    So open your eyes, my lad

    Leave folly and reflect

  52. إلا قليل العقل مِن

    هذى الخلائق والبشَر

    Soon you will see them

    In narrow miserable distress

  53. فافتحْ جُفونَك يا فتًى

    وَدَع الحماقة واعْتبرْ

    Let me prolong my praises

    Apologizing is appropriate

  54. ستراهُمُ عما قليلٍ

    في المضيق المُحتقَر

    Pure poetry flowers

    With pearls and gems

  55. دَعْنى أطيلُ مَدائحى

    فيه وصوبٌ مَنْ عَذَر

    Praising the Imam intercedes

    On a day from which there is no escape

  56. فالجيدُ يَزْهُو بالقلا

    ئِد واللآلى والدرَر

    The Prophet said: "Learn

    Virtuous eloquent poetry"

  57. مدحُ الإمام شفاعةٌ

    تُرْجَى ليومٍ لا مَفر

    For within poetry is wisdom

    And eloquence for the wise

  58. قال النبىّ تعلّموا

    الشعرَ السنىَّ المُزدَهِر

    Last O leader of Muslims

    Successful, with long life

  59. فالشعرُ فيه حكمةٌ

    وفصاحةٌ لِمن اعتبرْ

    As long as lightning flashes

    Or clouds rumble and rain pours

  60. دُمْ يا إمامَ المسلمينَ

    موفقاً طول العُمُر

    Or a longing one yearns

    For homelands after long travel

  61. ما لاحَ برقٌ أَوْ هَمَى

    وَدْقُ السحائبِ وانهمَر

    Or the morning breeze blows

    On the supple bough at dawn

  62. أو حنَّ مُشتاقٌ إلى

    الأوطانِ مِن طول السفر

    Or a bird cries out at dusk

    From the branches of a tree

  63. أو لاعبتْ ريحُ الصَّبَا

    غصن النقَا وقْتَ السحر

    Or the full moon appears at night

    Or dawn breaks and emerges

  64. أو ناحَ طيرٌ بالضحى

    مِن فوق أغصانِ الشجرْ

    This is from a servant who

    With his praises aspires to pride

  65. أو تمَّ بدرٌ بالدجَى

    أو لاحَ صبحٌ وانفْجَر

    As long as lightning flashes at night

    Or a bird cries out on a tree

  66. هذا من العَبْدِ الذي

    بمديحِه كى يَفْتخر

  67. ما لاحَ برقٌ بالدجى

    أو نَاحَ طيرٌ بالشجر
