شربت شمولاً من شتيتٍ مشوبةً

بشهد شذاها عنبرٌ وقُرُنْفُلُ

I drank the cup of life in sips, sweetened

With the honey of its scent - amber and carnation.

طمست الهوَى لما بَدا طالعُ الهُدى

وطلعةُ سلطانُ بن سيف تهلَّلُ

When the guiding star rose up the passions faded;

The morning star of Sultan bin Sayf shone clear.

ومن مثل سلطان بن سيف وولدِه

وفاءً وحلماً في الموازين تثقلُ

None can equal Sultan bin Sayf and his son

In patience and mercy - the scales bear their weight.

هربت لديهم إذ هدوني إلى الهُدى

وأهدوا هدايا من هِباتٍ تُعَجَّلُ

To their guidance I fled when they showed me the way,

And granted me gifts of their bounty so swift.

لأنكَ يا سلطان لا زِلْتَ لابساً

لآلِىء مجدٍ لا تَرِثُّ فتبذلُ

For you, Sultan, still wear the mantle

Of glory's honor, no moth-holes can rend.
