1. لَمن الحُمول بجو ضاحي

    من باكرٍ غَلَساً وضاحي

    For whom are the burdens in the air of the meadows

    In the early dewy and bright morning

  2. مِثل الأَداحِي تحتها

    أمثالُ أُمَّاتِ الأداحي

    Like the humid places under which

    Are types of mothers of the wet places

  3. يحملن أقماراً حَمل

    ن السقمَ في مُقَلٍ صحاحِ

    They carry moons, a pregnancy

    Of illness in a healthy pregnancy

  4. من دون أطراف الحدي

    ث لهنّ أطرافُ الرماحِ

    Without the edges of talk

    For them are the edges of spears

  5. مَن مخبري عن رائح

    ين نكِرتُ بعدهُمُ مراحي

    Who informs me of the smells

    I denied after them the places of rest

  6. هيهات لو صدق الدلي

    لُ سألتُ ليلي عن صباحي

    Alas! If the guide were truthful

    I would have asked Laila about my love

  7. والنجمُ يحمل كأسها

    منها الحبابُ بغير راحِ

    And the star carries her cup

    From it the seeds without comfort

  8. حَظَرَ الكرى مَنْ لا يُطا

    ع سواه في حَظْر المباحِ

    He forbade whoever does not obey

    Him alone in the sanctuary of the lawful

  9. راضٍ إذا سفك الدما

    ءَ بما تقلَّد من جُناحِ

    Pleased when blood is shed

    With what he wore of wings

  10. كَثُرَ الملاحُ وما له

    مِثْلٌ بإُقرار المِلاحِ

    The sailors have multiplied but they have no

    Equal in recognizing the sailors

  11. بأبي ثناياه لقد

    غولطتُ عنّها بالأقاحي

    By my father her molars I have

    Mistaken them with the mills

  12. غَلَطَ المُقايسِ بابن أي

    وبَ السحابةَ في السماحِ

    The measures have mistaken Ibn Ayoub

    And the cloud in the sky

  13. ومحمدٌ أزكى نسي

    مَ ثرىً وأندَى بطنَ راحِ

    And Muhammad is the purest path

    Soil and the most dewy soft bellying

  14. وأعمّ حين يخصّ جو

    دُ الغيث ساحاً بعد ساحِ

    And most comprehensive when the generosity of the rain

    Singles out a plain after a plain

  15. طالت به عينٌ إلى ال

    علياء واسعةُ الطماحِ

    An eye longing for it

    To the most high, vast in ambition

  16. ويدٌ تقلِّبُ أنملا

    تِ مكارمٍ سُبطٍ سِجاحِ

    And a hand that turns the soft

    Fingers of glory, elite's elite

  17. لم تدرِ أنّ اللّهَ خا

    لقُ هذه الأيدي الشحاحِ

    It did not know that Allah has created

    These generous hands

  18. من معشرٍ يتذمّمو

    ن المالَ ليس بمستباحِ

    From a group who perfume themselves

    With money that is not violable

  19. لا يُطعَمون مع العش

    يّ حلاوةَ النَّعمِ المُراحِ

    They are not fed with intimacy

    The sweetness of pleasant blessings

  20. فإذا تزاحمت الوفو

    د على بيوتهم الفِساحِ

    So when the delegations gathered

    At their spacious homes

  21. يَسَروا فكان لمن يفو

    ز بضيفه فوزُ القِداحِ

    They were hospitable so he who

    Excels his guest excels in generosity

  22. في عِرضهم سَرَفُ القِصا

    صِ ومالِهم هَدرُ الجراحِ

    In their honor there is excess of stories

    And their money is spilled blood

  23. فإذا انتضَوا زُبَرَ الصحا

    ئف ثلَّموا زُبَر الصِّفاحِ

    So if they gird the loins of endeavor

    They patch up the loins of hardship

  24. وإذا قِيامةُ سؤدُدٍ

    كذَبتك في الصُّوَر القِباحِ

    And if the uproar of misfortune

    Belies you in the ugly forms

  25. بلَجوا على ضوء الصَّبا

    حِ ببهجةِ الغُرر الصِّباحِ

    They plunged into the light of the morning

    With the joy of the delightful morning

  26. لبيّك عدةَ ما اكتسب

    تُ وقد دعوتُك من صلاحِ

    At your service however much

    I have gained when I called you in integrity

  27. وضممتني والدهرُ مج

    تمعُ الصروف على اطراحي

    And it held me while time gathers

    Circumstances against my leaning

  28. وإذا شهرتُ عليه سي

    فاً عاد يُدميني جِراحي

    And if I brandish a sword against it

    It returns wounding my wounds

  29. قد كنتُ مقترِحاً فجا

    ء بك الزمانُ على اقتراحي

    I used to be hopeful but time came against me

    In my hope

  30. لا توسعنِّي من نوا

    لك فوق ما يسَعُ امتداحي

    Do not expand me from your attainments

    Beyond what my praise can comprise

  31. دعني أطيرُ بشكره

    ما دام يحملني جَناحي

    Let me fly in gratitude

    As long as it carries me, my wing

  32. في كلّ شاردةٍ مبا

    عِدةِ الغدوِّ مع الرواحِ

    In every distracted with the blessings

    Of the eve with the soul

  33. بِكرٍ وَلودٍ من بنا

    تِ الناتجات بلا لقاحِ

    Early born even if

    From daughters born without pollination

  34. أحبُوك منها كلَّ عي

    د بالخريدةِ والرَّداحِ

    They loved you each holiday with

    The bead and the fine garment

  35. تصف اللطائمُ طيبَها

    من طيبك الشرف الصُّراحِ

    It describes its perfume from your

    Noble perfume, the frankincense

  36. ما كُسِّرت رُجُمُ الجِما

    رِ وسُوِّقت بُدُنُ الأضاحي

    The stones of the moon night were not broken

    And the bodies of the sacrifices were marketed
