طالبَني بالعتْبِ حتّى إذا

عُوتبَ ظَلَّ العَتبُ يجفو علِيهْ

He blamed me repeatedly until when

I was blamed, blame kept being held against me

فاليومَ أشكُوه إلى مَنْ تُرَى

وكنتُ أشكُو الناسَ طُرّاً إِليهْ

So today I complain about him to whom, I wonder

When I used to complain about people unjustly to him
