Offer up for your soul a repentance whose acceptance may be hoped for,
Send ahead for your own soul a repentance you may hope in,
before death, and before tongues are stilled.
before death comes, before the tongues are sealed in silence.
With it, forestall the soul’s clinging bonds, for repentance is
Outrace with it the bonds that hold the souls fast — for it is
a treasure laid up and a precious gain for the penitent doer of good.
a treasure laid in store, a prize won, for the penitent who does good.
