كُن مَعَ اللَهِ يَكُن لَك

وَاِتَّقِ اللَهَ لَعَلَّك

With God be thou, He will be with thee

Fear God, haply He will be with thee

لا تَكُن إِلّا مُعِدّاً

لِلمَنايا فَكَأَنَّك

Be thou ready for death at all times

As though it would befall thee next moment

إِنَّ لِلمَوتِ لَسَهماً

واقِعاً دونَكَ أَو بِك

Death's arrow is bound to hit someone

Whether before thee or right on thee

نَحنُ نَجري في أَفاني

نِ سُكونٍ وَتَحَرُّك

We live to finally pass away

In stillness or movement as may be

فَعَلى اللَهِ تَوَكَّل

وَبِتَقواهُ تَمَسَّك

On God place thy trust sincere

And by Godfearing thyself adhere
