1. إِنّي إِذا مَلَكتُ قوتَ غَدٍ

    فَلَيسَ بي فاقَةٌ إِلى أَحَدِ

    When I have enough for tomorrow’s bread

    I have no need of any man

  2. إِنَّ غِنى النَفسِ رَأسُ كُلِّ غِنىً

    وَما اِفتِقاري إِلّا إِلى الصَمدِ

    True wealth lies in self-contentment

    My only want is my Creator

  3. وَالناسُ صِنفانِ في زَمانِكَ ذا

    لَو غَيرَ هَذينَ رُمتَ لَم تَجِدِ

    People now fall in only two camps

    Find any besides these two you will not

  4. هَذا بَخيل وَعِندهُ سَعَةٌ

    وَذا جَواد بِغَيرِ ذاتِ يَدِ

    One's a miser yet enjoys great wealth

    The other gives freely though he has naught
